Ai Kamachi

Composer Arranger Pianist
Ai Kamachi is a multi-talented artist whose previous works spanned from contemporary music, electro-acoustic music, symphonic works, film sound -track and pop music. Also she played the piano on most her works.

Ai Kamachi was born in Tokyo Japan. She began piano lessons at the age three and composition lessons at seven. After studying composition at Kunitachi College of Music in Tokyo, She music composition studies with Toshi Ichiyanagi, Hiroshi Yamaguchi Masaaki Hashimoto.

Started Composing at Music Production "SYN" was established Simon Le Bon of "Duran Duran" and Nick Wood specializes in sound design music production for commercials, film soundtracks and CD in Tokyo JAPAN.

In 2002 Formed the"aikamachi+nagie"unit with recording engineer,composer NAGIE With the successful. she is busy as an artist and composing arranging and producing for worldwide TV commercial music ,TV channel music, film soundtracks etc.

They released their debut album "Radiant Garden" from Consipio Records in Japan. The balanced unity of piano, strings and other acoustic elements fused with abstract electronic sounds sets them apart from other electro -acoustic music.

The next year,they started production with Max/MSP.
"Turnstiles for Shakuhachi and electronics live" (2005) has had performances by JSCM Electro-Acoustic concert in Japan
and ISCM-ACL Electro-Acoustic concert in Hong-Kong（2007）

Ai Kamachi her harmonic vocabulary is very rich and experimental digital technology electronics music. Keen sensitivity and meticulous selection of sounds create a musical space of sophisticated beauty.

Recording Engineer Composer Producer

Started Career working at synthesizer artist KITARO's recording studio from19 years of age. Gained Lots of recording experience and became chief engineer at just 21 years of age. After that,he worked at STUDIO TAKE ONE then worked freelance. When he was 25 years old he became chief engineer at "WORLD BEATS" dance music production studio. Here he was immersed in club music,developing new ideas and techniques. At that time his band "JUPITER PROJECT"made it's debut on TOSHIBA/EMI records.

At 27 years of age he became chief engineer at "SYN" a company formed by "Duran Duran"(from England)singer-Simon Le Bon and composer-Nick Wood. Whilst working at SYN Production, he recorded more than 300 pieces of TV commercial and film sound-track music for well known clients such as Coca-Cola and many others. He also worked with Simon Le Bon, Julian Lennon, Maxi Priest, Janet Jackson and David Sanborn.

After working at "SYN" for 6 years he decided to became independent, first traveling to,and working in Brazil to experience and learn more about that country's music .Then on his return to Japan, he formed the "aikamachi+nagie" unit with composer Ai Kamachi.

His world is not only composing song but also creating sound.
He uses Max/MSP for algorithmic composition, creating synthesis and orchestral　recording.
His sound is dynamic and dramatic,
because he has long carrier of recording engineer .
His perfect world is obsessiveness from the input to the output for the sound.
